Virtual Reality Meet-up in Bangalore

Bangalore Virtual Reality
Trying out the Oculus Rift VR Headset

On the 7th of May, Internet Academy organised the first Bangalore VR Meetup. VR, or Virtual Reality, is a concept that is predicted to be one of the next big waves in the Tech Industry. This year, 2016, is said to be the first year of VR because of the major VR head-mount displays that have officially been launched this year - like the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Playstation VR.

This meetup was attended by a community of people interested in the development and application of Virtual Reality technologies. In future meetups, we will be focusing on exploring all possible applications of VR - in business, social, gaming, sports, and medical fields.

The First Meetup

First Meetup

Sunil Dhunde, a Software Developer who is part of our R&D Team, started the session with an introduction to the world of VR, and its implications - like the current VR market stats, use-cases, VR devices and softwares.

Then Nishanth Harish Babu, our Technical Sales Representative, showcased a VR application demo that could be used to visualise and conceptualise future home spaces. We forsee this changing how Interior Design and Real Estate companies reach out to potential home-owners in the future.

A few attendees were also from Marketing Departments of companies that were interested in using VR to provide a better experience for clients. We discussed the use-cases and applications of VR in each of their industries, and will continue to explore them in future meetups.

The Next Meetup

Our second meetup will take place on 4th of June. If you would like to join us, please confirm your registration below!
